For over decades, Epic Group has been a key player in the apparel industry – first as a major textiles trading house, then as a leader in sourcing quality fabrics, and since 2005 as a state-of-the-art manufacturing company with facilities in Bangladesh, Jordan, and Ethiopia. Our evolution speaks to our core principle – to relentlessly pursue better.

Ranjan Mahtani, Founder & Group Chairman (centre),

A true veteran of the textile industry, EPIC Group Founder and Executive Chairman, Ranjan Mahtani started in the industry as a teenager, cutting his cloth in India, Sri Lanka and Taiwan. Then in the early 1980s, on a business trip to Bangladesh, he recognised the true potential of that country and set up the biggest buying office in Bangladesh. From this moment the EPIC Group we know today started to take shape.

After 15 years in Bangladesh, Mahtani established Epic’s Corporate HQ in Hong Kong along with its New York operations. He was joined by joint CEOs Sunil Daryanani and Dinesh Virwani in the early 1990s, who led operations first in Bangladesh, and now in Hong Kong.

Ranjan Mahtani has expanded EPIC from major buying operation to major manufacturing operation, with further expansion plans that include services Beyond Manufacturing.

Philip Marcovici

Philip Marcovici , Group Advisor
Philip Marcovici is retired from the practice of law and consults with governments, financial institutions and global families in relation to tax, wealth management and other matters. An area of focus for Philip relates to the many issues faced by wealth and business owning families, including governance approaches and the trust, partnership and other structures used in the ownership of family assets. Philip has also long worked with fashion and brand owning businesses, primarily in Asia and Europe, and has been involved in strategy, private equity and other matters relevant to manufacturers, designers, brand owners and investors.

Justin Wong

Justin Wong , Group Chief Financial Officer
Justin’s experience spans over 20 years, as he worked across multiple industries and markets, in companies such as PPG Industries, Morningside, Aldila, Ernst & Young and Deloitte. His background of working in private equity and Fortune 200 MNC, his passion in financial management, general management, mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructuring and business turnaround.

Zahara Ashraff

Zahara Ashraff, President - Human Resource
Zahara’s forte is ideating and operationalizing strategic HR objectives and initiatives across all our factories globally. A passionate Human Resource practitioner with over 15 years of experience in apparel and textile manufacturing, she is a vocal spokesperson for our 30,000 employees, 90% of which are female. She continuously pushes for women’s development and empowerment.

Brian Deleu

Brian Deleu, President - Design/ Product Development
Brian is responsible for being a touchpoint with our customers in the US during the development stage as well as market intelligence. Before EPIC he had worked with JC Penny for almost 14 years.

Vidhura Ralapanawee

Vidhura Ralapanawee , Head of Sustainability
With a background in climate science and renewable energy, he reimagines apparel manufacturing in a sustainable era. With apparel sustainability experience spanning 15 years, he brings specialized knowledge in sustainable factory design, resource efficiency and sustainable product innovation. He leads our sustainability strategy bringing in a creative and activist mindset. He has experience in influencing the global sustainability agenda through industry associations such as Sustainable Apparel Coalition and ZDHC.

Helen Morris

Helen Morris, Group Legal Counsel
Helen is a qualified solicitor of Hong Kong, England & Wales, and Ireland (non-practicing), and a member of the State Bar of California. After working in private practice for several years , where she dealt with both cross-border commercial and litigation matters, Helen joined the Epic team as Group Legal Counsel.
